Glossary

Our claim is »powerful simplicity«, and eminec MYmap is easy to use. Matching the versatility of eminec MYmap however, a number of technical terms has evolved — because there is just so much you can do with the system. We have compiled a list of short definitions for frequently used terms. The list also contains the equivalent terms in German.

Edition of eminec MYmap technically equivalent to Premium, but offered at a significantly reduced price to students, teachers and lecturers

Basic information container in eminec MYmap
Map center (Map-Mittelpunkt)
Every map contains exactly one Map center. All other objects are subordinate to the Map center

Map Manager

The large, blank area of the eminec MYmap window used to display and edit the map
Mapping
Visual representation of knowledge (information and its interconnections) in a drawing
Meta data (Metadaten)
Additional information about a map, such as name of the author and of the last editor
MMXML
XML format used for map storage in eminec MYmap beginning with version XG; see also: XML, EMM
Mono
Open Source project plannig an open implementation of .NET 2.0; this will presumably make eminec MYmap compatible with various systems (including Mac OS X and Linux); see also: .NET 2.0
